Hub adapters showed up, now the ridiculously over wide ‘vette wheels can shine.
Finally got to mounting the steering column, it will have a further forward mount tied in aswell.
The adapter is 2" which may rustle some Jimmies but necessary. Originally bought them on the thought of picking up a 59" Ford explorer rear axle, and needed the extra space to get close to the goal of a 6ft total width. That didnt pan out due to the driveshaft offset being too extreme, and being kinda a pain to aquire. As it sits the front width is 5'10", in other words: close enough.
In the meantime any rearend that has a standard LSD is on the table if I can find one. Also considering a Jag rear end with inboard brakes for the amazing factor. Low weight is somewhat a nonfactor considering how overpowered it will be, though the additional stress on the chassis is a concern as weight grows.
Jag rear end, not mine
Sleuthed ebay for the cheapest name brand 300mm steering wheel money can buy along with a hub adapter. Time will tell if a quick release is necessary.
as it sits

Are those wheels 10.5 wide?
Also, what are u gonna be using it for? Track, autox?

9.5 with a 270/40/17, I think the front will go down to 245/40 with the back staying at 270 on federal 595ss.
Its being built for the road out of necessity because I dont have the resources to transport it. From what I gather theres a way for kit cars to circumvent smog regulations in Ca if you jump through the right hoops. It is being built to meet scca regulations as best I can, but i don’t expect the car to be particularly fast at an autoX.
Plan is 5pt harnesses, interior carpet, passenger seat, 15-ish gal fuel tank, non-servo brakes, no PS, roll bar(not a cage) , turn signals, lights etc.
In the grand scheme id like to make a full steel body with closed wheels and a roof. But thats a whole other project once it drives.

I suggest you think about putting some longitudinal braces under the floor pan so it can slide on anything it bottoms out on. A long time ago I read of a story of a guy who high cen tered a tu be frame formula car on a alli gatored curb. The curb ripped the sheet metal floor out of the footbox his feet got tangled in it. He was a mess.
I t left permanent memory that I sure did not want to sit in a fabricated steel floored r acecar without some significant protection to prevent a curb or other part taking the floor/footbox out.

Awesome! Why would it be not fast at autox tho? Just coz you will not be on the best rubber?
Seems like its gonna be insanely fast in a straight line (if it can put down the power). What are you thinking suspension wise? Gonna steal some shocks/springs from an OEM car?

NEEDS MOAR HOOD!
Som e ungodly Mashup of ginetta, E type, and cheetah. The seat being immediately in front of the rear axle forces it into being some form of shape like the cheetah but I’m going for a different look.(grew up wanting to be a car designer, so this is my shot)
Probably end up doing something forbidden with a VW bug to get the A pillars and roof.

The front suspension geometry is a shot in the dark, it was vaguely modeled in a program after The Lexus sc400 geometry but with no toe change under load and a different reaction to camber. Not convinced it will handle well, and the tight low-speed tends to bring out the worst behavior. Buuuuut, thats why everything is adjustable, and looking at the Haynes manual their suspension design is equally bodged together.
Gonn a do some math and see what sort of coilovers the front needs, but its looking like pushrods into whatevers cheap and meets the broad specs. Potentially motorcycle coilovers
